Projektraum zu Themen der wachsenden Stadt

Projektteams bestehend aus Designer*innen, Architekt*innen, Wissenschaftler*innen und Künstler*innen arbeiten während des 10-tägigen STADTTFINDEN Festivals an unterschiedlichen Projekten zum Thema Wachsende Stadt.
Ob Performance oder utopisches Szenario, die Form der Arbeit ist frei wählbar und die Resultate können vielseitig sein. Voraussetzung ist die kollaborative und interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise. Am Ende kann ein Vortrag, ein Buch oder eine raumgreifende Installation entstehen, die die physischen Möglichkeiten der Glasfabrik austestet. Auch kann die Arbeit den umgebenden Stadtraum mit einbeziehen, sofern eine Verbindung zur Glasfabrik bestehen bleibt.
Das LAB setzt sich auf unterschiedliche Art und Weise mit urbanistischen Themen auseinander. Welchen Einfluss hat eine wachsende Stadt auf das Leben ihrer Bewohner*innen? Welches Szenario ist für neue Formen des Zusammenlebens in der “Wachsenden Stadt” ist denkbar? Wie können Wachstumsprozesse kollaborativ im Sinne einer „Stadt für und von allen“ beeinflusst werden? Diese und ähnliche Fragen bilden Ausgangspunkt und Anregungen zu den Projekten.
Die Teams wurden mittels eines Open Calls gesucht und von einer Jury ausgewählt. Während einer initialen Input- und Austauschphase zu Beginn des Festivals soll die Projektskizze weiterentwickelt werden. Die Realisierung erfolgt anschließend im zweiten Schritt, begleitet von einer interessierten Öffentlichkeit und Workshops mit allen Teilnehmer*innen. Welche Teams im September dabei sind, werden wir in Kürze bekannt geben.
Mit dem LAB erprobt die Glasfabrik das Konzept interdisziplinären, kooperativen und experimentellen Arbeitens im thematischen Spannungsfeld der “Wachsenden Stadt”. Dies soll auch bei der längerfristigen Entwicklung der Glasfabrik im Fokus stehen. Das Festival bildet dazu den inhaltlichen Auftakt.

Project teams consisting of designers, architects, academics and artists will work together on various projects on the subject of the “expanding cities” during the 10-day period of the Festival STADTTFINDEN.
Whether performance or utopian scenario, the form of the work can be freely chosen and the results can be versatile. Important is the collaborative and interdisciplinary approach. In the end, a lecture, a book, or an installation filling the space of the Glasfabrik could result from the LAB. The work can also include the surrounding environment as long as a connection to the Glasfabrik remains.
The LAB will discuss urban subjects in various ways. What is the impact of expanding cities on the lives of their inhabitants? What scenarios of new forms of co-habitation in expanding city are imaginable? How can growth processes be collectively influenced in the sense of a “city for and of all”? These and similar questions form a basis for the projects and give impulses.
The teams were searched by means of an open call and selected by a jury. During an initial phase of input and exchange each team’s project sketch will be evolved. Implementation of the project will follow in a second step, accompanied in parallel by temporary public and open workshops. The final selection of the teams will be announced soon!
With the aid of the LAB, the Glasfabrik tests the concept of interdisciplinary, cooperative and experimental work within the field of the expanding city. This will also be the focus of the long-term development of the Glasfabrik.
